New living room on roadside

with one comment

On the feeder beside Texas 59 today, there is a lovely new green living room set. Seems to be both a sofa and loveseat. Unfortunately, I was traveling too fast to get a photo for closer inspection. I’m always curious about new items I spy on my usual commute to the medical center. Especially of concern to me are the many mattresses that pop up — some even in the median area. My first question is always: Why did the driver decide to leave it? If it was important enough to transport,  what makes it too unworthy to go back and pick up.

  1. there’s the ever-memorable Houston radio traffic report from years ago: “….there’s a sofa on fire in the road….” creating all those questions: did the owner set it ablaze and then heave it off his truck and take off again? was it set ablaze by unknown sources and simply fell off the truck? Did falling off the truck and striking the road set it on fire somehow? Or my fav >> Did the driver load up an already-burning sofa and disposed of it on the highway?
